London Riots , a Time to introspect

( I wrote this article a while ago.) Many of us might have been a little surprised to learn about the recent rioting waves that are spreading across the UK. But deep social thinkers may not be so surprised as we are. For they know that these are merely mild eruptions vented out by a larger cataclysmic brooding growing beneath the fault lines of the society. If the Arab uprising , heralds a growing resentment towards dictatorships and totalitarian regimes in the middle east, the London Riots too throw fresh light on the unevenness and lopsidedness of Economic and social prosperity in such most developed countries as the UK. This phenomenon is only more relevant in India where the asymmetry between the Rich and the Poor is growing rapidly. Prime Minister Cameroon's wartime like statements may only fuel the fire of resentment and anger in the impoverished and illiterate rioters. Life has been like a roller coaster ride so far. So many Ups and downs, but definitely a new dawning/realization/learning or whatever you wish to call it, after the turn of every year. I believe that , if we don't feel like we have become a better person after major blocks/chunks of time period in our lives, then our approach and perspective are something that should certainly be pondered upon. The more we accommodate the well being of others in general and the society we live in as a whole,in to our reasoning system, the wider our perspective becomes. For beginners, we can thus describe the first step to Maturity as including or accommodating other people's viewpoints in to our logical reasoning spectrum. By 'other people' I mean all the other people except us. It shall include the Milk man that we confront everyday or the small time vegetable vendor that we encounter, again each day.
