Porali – Film Review (written a while ago.....)

Porali – Film Review This is the 5th directorial venture of filmmaker Samuthirakani. It is definitely a laudable effort packed with convincing and dedicated performances given by its main star cast. This film showcases Samuthirakani’s repertoire as a storyteller par excellence. He succeeds in capturing the undivided attention of the audience, and maintaining it for the whole length of the film under his control. The film opens in a not so usual manner, and a sense of foreboding / uneasiness is injected in to the viewer right from the beginning itself. The director also offers a brief insight in to what this film is all about, thru his voice narration. It begins with the two main protagonists Ilankumaran (played by M.Sasikumar) and nallavan (played by Allari Naresh) escaping from an undisclosed location and reaching Chennai to seek a new living.
